About Us
The International British Urology Society (IBUS) is a professional organisation representing urologists in the United Kingdom who have obtained their primary medical qualification overseas, as well as those who identify with an international background. IBUS serves as a unifying platform for internationally trained urologists, fostering professional excellence, inclusivity, and collaboration within UK urology.
IBUS is committed to advancing education with particular focus on areas such as differential attainment, supporting members through shared learning and evidence-based initiatives. The society promotes strong professional relationships through active engagement on social media, structured networking opportunities, and face-to-face meetings.
As a central forum for international urologists in the UK, IBUS facilitates collaboration and exchange of knowledge with national urological associations, Royal Colleges, and international organisations, including those in members’ countries of origin. The society actively supports mentorship, professional development, and guidance in medicolegal matters, while nurturing a culture of mutual support and leadership.
In addition, IBUS is dedicated to promoting charitable initiatives and global health projects, reflecting its commitment to social responsibility and positive impact beyond the UK.
